Compliance with CSWA standards for sustainable farming, including metrics for water conservation (uniformity tests for drip system, soil probes to determine when to irrigate), cover crop in alternate vine rows for IPM and soil conservation; pruning wood composted in place between rows; drip irrigation and fertigation; organic compost application; vineyards fenced separately with open wildlife corridor, intact oak woodlands and winter creek between; barn owl boxes and bluebird/tree swallow boxes around vineyard; organic control of mildew/fungus; spot-application of pesticides if urgent circumstances (unnecessary for over 10 years); minimum application of glyphosate around vine trunks for IPM. |
